me

Hi!

My name is Tamara and welcome to  good.clean.yum! Now that we’re done with the formalities, let’s get to the good stuff!

I’m originally from Toronto, Canada and now I live on a hill above a beach town in southern California. The views are great, the ocean is stunning and I really did make several valiant attempts to go blonde to blend in. Too much work!

This blog was born out of the many requests I’ve received from people wanting “clean” recipes that they could eat while on Arbonne’s “30 Days to Feeling Fit” Detox and Lifestyle Plan.

The plan is designed to lighten your toxic load and to give your liver and kidneys a well-deserved break. Some people end up shedding a bit of excess weight. And most people are amazed at how the bloat disappears, sustained energy and focus increases and by how great they feel in general.

One important component of the plan is to eliminate dairy, gluten, soy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar and corn from the meals for 30 days.

“So what is left to eat?” they moaned.

“Tons of yummy food!” came my reply.

As I shared my recipes and received happy feedback, the idea for good.clean.yum! surfaced. Food has always been an important part of my life. The rituals, holidays, planning, experimenting, sharing and, of course, eating! Over the years I’ve gone down many culinary roads that I happily incorporate into my current eating lifestyle.

“I could share all of this through a blog.” I thought.

And then the idea grew into sharing more than just recipes – it morphed into sharing my thoughts on “good” things being done by good people, “clean” ideas for our planet and our health and “yum!” food ideas. All the things that make me happiest.

“Happy Ingredients for a Happy Life!”

You don’t have to be on a detox to enjoy eating this way. And if you are on any kind of detox or eating plan, please read the recipes as not all of them will be suitable for your particular needs. You be the judge as to what you can and cannot eat. Substitute out ingredients as you want to. Or forgo the recipes that don’t work with your health goals. Take charge, consult your medical doctor and make great choices for yourself.

Most of my recipes comply with the Arbonne 30 Days to Feeling Fit Detox  and some recipes fall into the 80/20 rule: clean eating (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, alcohol-free, corn-free, caffeine-free, sugar-free) most of the time, with a treat once or twice during the week. Please be sure to read each recipe through so you cook and enjoy according to whatever eating lifestyle you are following.

And since I myself have been gluten-free for over a decade, all of my recipes are gluten-free.

So glad you found me – I look forward to sharing my thoughts and recipes and to learning more about you through this blog!

Eat Happy, Live Happy!
Xo,

Tamara

PS: In the spirit of full disclosure, I am an Arbonne consultant (as well as an early childhood educator, life coach and long-time food enthusiast!) and it’s important to me to know that Arbonne has been around for over 30 years, has always been vegan and is gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free and yeast-free, amongst other great things. It is a “clean” company and I appreciate knowing I never have to worry when I use their products. The bonus is that they taste so good while being good for me!

I choose to use their products in some of my recipes when it makes sense to. Feel free to substitute out for your favorites, or ask me how to try the Arbonne products. It’s always your choice!

I look forward to hearing from you! xo T
